We are now Sweat Angels!

SweatAngels_400x200Blackbird CrossFit is proud to announce our partnership with the Sweat Angels program! It has always been an important part of our mission to give back, and now we’ll have the opportunity to do it not only within our community, but well beyond!

WHAT IS A SWEAT ANGEL, YOU ASK?

It’s a program by which CrossFitters can help give back by just doing CrossFit. It is a partnership between us and some of the best non-profit organizations in the world.

HOW DOES SWEAT ANGELS WORK?

Sweat Angels provides a way for our gym to do real world good by simply working out and telling others about it through social media.

Every time that you “check-in” on Facebook at Blackbird CrossFit, you contribute to our gyms total monthly check-ins.  Depending on the sponsored charity of the month, x number of check-ins will result in a donation.  Blackbird CrossFit donates to the Sweat Angels organization and the charities receive the benefit.  For example in January, every 15 check-ins resulted in a winter coat for someone in need. Sweat Angels gave away 5,000 coats! For February, we will need 125 check-ins to provide 1 pair of glasses to a child in need.February_SweatAngel-1024x791

Sweat Angels selects a new charity to support every month and the donation amount is based off of you! In the past, they have helped support military veterans, animal shelters, and many other great organizations!

Starting this week, every visit to the gym can equal real world good! We can do this!

SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU? 

It means…get your butt to the gym every available class and MAKE SURE to check in on Facebook. If you are not familiar with checking in on Facebook, follow these easy steps:

  1. Go to your Facebook profile
  2. Click check-in (see picture)
  3. You can simply check-in or you can post: “At the most awesome gym ever!” (we may be a bit biased) and click the location button to select Blackbird CrossFit.
  4. If you really want to have some fun with it and mix it up on occasion, you can check-in after the WOD and post your PRs, give shout-outs to your fellow athletes who kicked butt that day, post a pic of you pulling big weight, etc.
  5. Done. Simple as that!

We’ll keep you up to date on the amount of good done and all you have to do is use your membership (that you already pay for).
